Resumo

This article pretends to show how Uruguayn texts in the XXIst Century (songs, films and novels), construct a particular configuration of the Uruguayan identity influenced by the crisis caused by recent migration. These texts establish a dialogue between the past, perceived as unreal, and a present without future, and they make their contribution to increase the social value of the efforts done by emigrants to leave.
