Doctor by the Universidad de Granada with the thesis Realismos del simulacro imagen, medios y tecnología en la narrativa del Río de la Plata 2008. Supervised by Dr. Ángel Esteban del Campo.

Professor of Latin American Literature in the Department of Spanish Literature, Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Murcia. He holds a PhD in Latin American Literature with a thesis, which received an extraordinary award, on the relationships between image, technology and mass media in the literature of the Río de la Plata. Author of the monographs Narrativas del simulacro (EDITUM, 2013) and Mario Levrero para armar (Trilce, 2013), editor of and volumes of essays and author of more than 60 articles and book chapters. Project Antropolit: Literature and the Anthropocene. Visiting researcher at the universities of Sorbonne, Duke, Paul Valéry in Montpellier, Buenos Aires and UDELAR in Montevideo. Director of the journal "Monteagudo".
