Doctor by the Universidad Alma Mater Studiorum de Bolonia with the thesis La lucha del derecho contra el negacionismo una peligrosa frontera. Particular estudio de los ordenamientos español e italiano 2014. Supervised by Dr. Ángel Garrorena Morales, Dr. Jaime Miguel Peris Riera.
Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Murcia and has been co-director of the Chair of Good Governance and Public Integrity of this University (2021-2024). He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Bologna and the University of Murcia (international co-supervision, 2014), for the thesis "La lucha del Derecho contra el negacionismo: una peligrosa frontera", which received the rating "outstanding-cum laude" and "international mention". Particular study of the Italian and Spanish legal systems", which received the highest evaluation "cum laude" and "international mention". Previously, he had specialized studying the Master in Constitutional Law at the University of Seville (2010), as a scholarship holder of the "La Caixa" Foundation. He completed his Law Degree at the University of Murcia (2009), receiving the award for the best academic record and an mention in the National Awards (2008-2009). He has been a fellow of the Royal College of Spain in Bologna (2011-2012) and a research fellow at the University of Murcia (2011-2014). He worked as a parliamentary advisor at the Congress of Deputies (2016) and collaborated until 2019. Previously, he had been an intern at the Constitutional Court (2014-2015) and he did an intern at the European Parliament (2009). He has several publications and papers in seminars and congresses, and has experience in organizing academic events and managing research projects. He holds two six-year research periods (2011-2016) (2017-2022). In particular, he has developed two branches of scientific specialization: fundamental rights in the digital society; and freedom of expression and extreme discourses. He has also worked on areas related to European constitutional law, rule of law and institutional reforms. His latest book is Crisis constitucional e insurgencia en Cataluña: relato en defensa de la Constitución (Dykinson, 2020). He has been co-director of the Italian-Spanish Seminar on Constitutional Studies (2012-2023) and a member of various research centers and he participates in and has coordinated research and transfer projects at national and European level. He is co-director of the collection Derecho, buen gobierno y transparencia of the publishing house Marcial Pons, as well as evaluator of prestigious national and international academic journals. He has completed postdoctoral research stays at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg (2018) and predoctoral stays at the Spanish Constitutional Court (2014), at the office of Advocate General Ruiz-Jarabo at the Court of Justice of the European Union (2009), and at the Italian universities of Florence (2010) and Bologna (2011-2013). He has taught at various universities in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Constitutional Law, European Union Law and Criminal Law. He has two five-year teaching periods at the University of Murcia (2011-2014/2016-2017 and 2017-2022). He has also lectured as guest professor at undergraduate, master and doctoral level at the Universities of Roma Trè, Bologna, Verona and Seville. He also develops legal outreach work collaborating with various national and regional media. He is a researcher and member of the editorial board of Hay Derecho and collaborates with various associations and foundations.
