Doctor by the Universidad de Murcia with the thesis La importancia de los comentarios para la Exégesis del Ibis de Ovidio 1997. Supervised by Dr. María Consuelo Álvarez Morán.
After joining the Department of Classical Philology as a Research Scholar in January 1992 and my subsequent hiring as Assistant Professor in the Area of Latin Philology, I have developed my teaching as a full professor since 2000, mainly in the disciplines of Mythology, Language and Latin Literature, Latin Texts and Survival of the Classical Tradition. My lines of research include Classical Mythology, Mythography, Latin Literature, Mythology in the Renaissance, the Survival of Classical literature and the Translation of Latin authors. Other topics of my interest are Textual Criticism, Classical Rhetoric and Intertextuality. I am the researcher responsible for the Research Group "Latin Literature and Classical Mythology. Intertextuality and Tradition".
