Resum

A transcultural validation study was conducted at Clínica Odon- tológica Universitaria of the Universidad de Murcia, Hospital Gen- eral Universitario Morales Meseguer, Murcia, Spain to adapt and validate the Martinelli protocol for assessing lingual frenulum in infantis from Portuguese into Spanish Three expert pediatric den- tists validated the translation, and examined 5 babies each. The process involved 4 stages: translation, consensus, back-translation, and a specialist committee. The protocol, divided into Clinical history and Examination, showed agreement among the experts, with no significant differences being reported in the assessment of the infants They concluded that the adapted tool remains valid for evaluating lingual frenulum in infants in Spain.
