Resumo

This book intends to introduce future preschool teachers into the so-called ‘critical thinking’ throughout a series of set texts dealing with a wide variety of vocabulary topics related to the area of Education which will help students acquire new vocabulary. Beyond the mere acquisition of vocabulary, skills such as communicative competence (debating, expressing opinions or being critical) are the main core of this book. In this context, texts are presented so as to be exploited through reading comprehension questions, vocabulary and grammar exercises, and more importantly, problem-solving tasks and thought-provoking questions, encouraging teamwork. With all these activities, undergraduate students are expected to acquire a solid B1 level in English which allows them to teach the language to their future preschool students. In summary, this book aims to be valuable not only to undergraduate students in Early Years Education, but also to active preschool teachers who wish to expand their knowledge for the sake of enhancing the quality of their own lessons.
