Abstract

In this work we present analysis of a new phenomenon, the gelotofobia, in different groups of students. For this experience was obtained the collaboration of 2nd of primary education, music education and physical education teaching students. The gelotofobia can have serious negative impact on people with it, being one of their first negative effects the social isolation and depressions. According to Michael Titze (2008), is a specific phenomenon of shame. The word gelotofobia comes from the Greek term gelos, which means laughing, and together with the term phobia, indicates a pathological fear to laughter. Titze (2008), also warns us of the behavior of parental education can lead to the gelotofobia. We arise that teachers, as figure of influence in cognitive, emotional and social development can develop this phobia and mislead students; which we can make an early prog- nosis in teaching students, and can then design interventions according to the criteria arising from the positive psychology, in order to improve the social situation of teachers, as well as students, pro- moting greater life satisfaction.
