This study compaired the effects of two teaching-learning approaches (Traditional versus Ludotechnical) on the skill and efficiency performance in athletics disciplines of walk, high jump and shot put, using 88 fourth-year primary-school students. The sample was divided into two experimental groups and a control group. The experimental groups received a treatment during school hours of 18 lessons, based on learning athletic walk, high jump and shot put, for which the development of skill and efficiency were measured. Of particular note was the improvement of the walk technique with both approaches relative to the control group, confirmed that in the scholastic field it makes sense a different point of view in athletics initiation. Nevertheless, it might require a longer treatment time to produce more conclusive results for the other disciplines.
