Resum
The aims of this study was the production of flax flakes and its incorporationinto total mixed rations (TMR) for dairy goats and obtain milk with highercontent in omega-3 and conjugated linoleic (CLA) acid.Flaked of flaxseed were made and then an induction oxidation study wasperformed. Two dietary treatments were established, control diet with fatbypass and another with flax flaked. A herd of 323 goats Murcianogranadinasin lactation was used.Flaked treatment increased (P <0.01) the level of malondialdehyde (MDA),however the range (0.84 to 1.0 mg / kg) did not reach the maximun limit valueof rancidity. The incorporation of flax flakes in dairy goats rations decreased a3.5% the saturated fatty acids content in milk, and a 65.7% in the ω-6 / ω-3ratio. Furthermore an increased content of polyunsaturated fatty acids(63.97%), CLA (19.53%), the ω-3 (285.34%) and the ω-6 (33.52%) wasobserved.Flaked flax can be added directly to the dairy goat TMR rations to raise theprofile of milk fat.
