Abstract
The main goal of this study was to evaluate possible effect caused bymycoplasmas on the bulk tank milk quality of goat herds placed in contagiousagalactia (CA) endemic areas. A total of 570 individual milk samples and 266bulk tank milk samples were collected from 26 herds in the island of Lanzarote(Spain) over a 1-year period. Infected and non infected herds by Mycoplasmaspp. and the differences among the least square means and standard errors ofthe bulk tank milk components (fat, total protein, lactose, and total solids) of theherds with different mycoplasma status were described. Mycoplasma spp. wasisolated from a total of 52 milk samples from 13 herds but not significativedifferences between the milk quality parameters studied was observed.
