Resumen
In this piece of research we want to present some practical implications that Corpus Linguistics offers to FL teachers and researchers. In particular, we are concerned with the exploration of a methodological framework based on Data Driven Language Learning (JOHNS, T. y KING, P.) within a communicative context. Our proposal aims at the integration of corpus collection into students’ learning experience through the setting of reading activities in the FL classroom. We believe that these activities are particularly suitable for learner corpora building. First, they present students with linguistic input which can be further elaborated on; second, researchers and teachers can control, in terms of variable, the source of L2 information used by learners and, thirdly, L1/ L2 mini parallel corpora (TRIBBLE) can be contrasted and thus we can gain insight into students’ interlanguage and language use.
