Resumen

This communication presents the results of a research stay in several cities of Uzbekistan during the month of August 2016. The research concluded with a photographic artwork installation presented by the author in the Faculty of Agriculture of Samarkand. The research targets, from a creative point of view and not only as a visitor, a country present in our cultural imaginary through the Silk Road. The realization of an photographic installation in the Faculty of Agriculture focused primarily on the relationship between art and nature through the clothing of women and other household goods, and from this departing point, also on the perception and construction of gender roles. The study uses a methodology anchored in the creation and artistic production, observing different cultural processes from people's daily life, with particular focus on the floral ornament -‐ present in most of women’s clothing-‐ as a characteristic element of the culture. In this country, as in so many others, women have a close relationship with the land and the processes of nature, an aspect that can sometimes be relegated to the domestic sphere. This review raises awareness on imposed stereotypes by making them visible in the artwork.
