Salvador Martínez Puche is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Communication and Documentation, Department of Communication, at the University of Murcia. He holds a PhD in Communication (2024) from the University of Murcia with outstanding cum laude distinction, a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising and Public Relations (2005), and a postgraduate degree in Advanced Studies in Current Techniques and Methods of Information and Communication (2008). Additionally, he holds specialized certifications in the Commercialization of Tourism Products (UNED, 2011) and in Direction and Production in Film, Video, and TV (ULPGC, 2002). Martínez Puche has published over 15 papers in indexed journals such as El Boletín de la Asociación de Geógrafos Españoles, Investigaciones Geográficas, Seriarte, Pensar la Publicidad, Signos do Consumo, Via Tourism, and Estudios Turísticos. He is also the author of more than 25 book chapters and one scientific monograph. He has participated in over 30 national and international conferences, focusing on advertising, audiovisual fiction, territorial strategies, and citizen participation. He has also served as a peer reviewer for indexed journals (WOS, Scopus) and scientific committees. He has participated in three research projects funded by the State Research Agency (projects led by researchers from the Carlos III University of Madrid, the University of Alicante, the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Castilla La Mancha). And has been a member of undergraduate thesis committees. Since 2009, he has taught various university extension courses related to communication and territorial strategies, serving as a professor in the official Master’s Program in Local Development and Territorial Innovation at the University of Alicante. Previously, he taught at San Jorge University (2008-2010). He has also supervised more than 30 undergraduate theses. For three decades, he has worked as a copywriter, creative director, producer, and project manager in advertising agencies, audiovisual production companies, and print and audiovisual media in the Province of Alicante and the Region of Murcia (Spain). He has also served as a strategic head of corporate communication departments (Obra Social de Caixapetrer-Grupo Cajamar) and institutional communication departments (City Council of Villena). In 2024, he received the Award for Teaching Improvement in Category B for the innovation project “Storeetelling: Active Learning of Audiovisual Creativity” at the University of Murcia.
