Abstract

Holy Week is one of the most important celebrations of the religious calendar in Spain, and in the Region of Murcia, each town has its own way of commemorating the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Albudeite, a small town located in the heart of Murcia, stands out for a particular and unique tradition: the Burning of Judas. This ritual, which takes place on Easter Sunday, is not only a religious act, but also a cultural manifestation deeply rooted in local identity. In this article, we will explore the history, meaning and various aspects of this tradition, which has endured throughout the centuries.
