Résumé

In this paper, we present a mapping of the radio spots produced by ministries in the first year of Lula’s government (PT), during his second reelection in 2022. Considering the consumption of audio media in Brazil, we ask: to what extent do the ministries of the Lula 2023 government use radio spots in governmental communication? Along these lines, we discuss the characteristics of government radio spots and the most common communication strategies in this format and context. After mapping, we analyze and classify the pieces according to the languages used, whether they are Playful, Informative, or Institutional. We also particularly examine communications produced by ministries led by women and the signal of gender in spots. Currently, in the top tier, the government has 09 female ministers (Public Service Management and Innovation, Health, Women, Culture, Racial Equality, Planning, Science and Technology, Environment and Climate Change, and Indigenous Peoples) out of a total of 38 ministries, representing 23% of the highest positions in the Executive branch. Based on a corpus of 55 radio spots, we conclude that the informative format is the most prevalent in the Brazilian government.
