Zusammenfassung

Based on 26 localities explored in northern Africa, five bryophytic communities are studied. The nitrophilous tendency of Riccietum atromarginato-lamellosae (Phascion mitraefromis) and the affinity to temperate coastal areas of Riccio nigrellae-Oxymitretum paleaceae (Mannion androgynae) are demonstrated. Likewise the wide phytoclimatic range in which Trichostomo-Aloinetum aloidis (Phascion mitraeformis) can be present is confirmed. A mesophytic community with Timmiella barbuloides (Pleurochaetion squarrosae) is described and a succession pattern is proposed for the communities of this alliance relating to macro- and microenvironmental gradients of humidity.
