Abstract
The presence of Franz Kafka in Chilean letters is shown from his reception in the first half of the 20th century in the literary magazine Babel, founded by Enrique Espinoza, who will recognize in the Chilean writer María Luisa Bombal evidence of Kafka's influence. This article analyzes the way in which the figure and work of the Czech writer Franz Kafka is present in K, a work by the Chilean writer Lilian Elphick, who will coincide with Bombal in representing human vulnerability, the fantastic and dreamlike through a mysterious character, K, and other curious creatures.
