Resumen

This chapter addresses the connection of various members of the Casa de Alba de Tormes to different orders of chivalry, distinguishing between Military Orders, and the Order of the Golden Fleece. The main objective of belonging to these was to achieve a reinforcement of their noble identity, as well as an added merit to their condition. Through some individuals of the lineage, it will be analyzed how integration into the orders of chivalry was rather a matter of tradition and a pattern that is repeated throughout the eighteenth century.
