Abstract

The four members of the Teaching Innovation Group of the University of Murcia (UMU) “Applied Economics in Non-Economics Degrees” (EcoNoEco) have carried out different projects focused on active methodologies, assessment systems, the inverted classroom, or teaching materials, among others. The exploration of these different initiatives has allowed us to learn about the main weaknesses and strengths of our work as UMU teaching staff, always with the aim of improving the teaching-learning process. Therefore, it also seems essential to address the characteristics that students value in teachers, which cannot be separated from their own methodology, materials or assessment systems. Students have answered some surveys with questions that are scored on a Likert scale or in which they select the traits they value most. This process has made it possible to improve the survey to the point of f inding some consensus ideas that during this academic year we are going to ask students to complete in different degree courses (Economics, Labour Relations, Sociology or Social Work) to obtain information that will allow us to continue improving as teachers.
