Resumen

Aquest estudi ofereix una anàlisi detallada del llenguatge emprat en la cobertura de la pandèmia per The Guardian i El País, examinant la representació de les postures governamentals i la seva influència en la resposta dels ciutadans. S’investiga el paper d’aquests mitjans com a canals de comunicació governamental i el seu efecte en la percepció pública durant la crisi sanitària. A través d’una anàlisi rigorosa, confirmem la nostra hipòtesi que els governs del Regne Unit i Espanya van exercir una influència ambivalent sobre la població mitjançant l’ús estratègic d’un discurs manipulador. Aquest estudi es basa en la creació d’un corpus bilingüe i en l’ús d’anàlisi textual avançada per desentranyar les tàctiques de control i persuasió aplicades. Les troballes revelen una tendència cap a l’ús d’un lèxic carregat negativament i d’estratègies emocionals, així com l’ús de metàfores i argot tècnic per establir una asimetria informativa entre les autoritats i la ciutadania.
