Abstract
This chapter analyzes the work of Mariano Ruiz Funes, a disciple of Luis Jiménez de Asúa who actively participated in the drafting of the Penal Code (1932) and the Law of Vagrants and Crooks (1933), serving the Republic in top positions as Minister of Justice, Diplomat and finally in the exile in Mexico.
