Abstract
In this contribution we start from the assumption that a cultural model is an adequate and fertile scheme to reveal and understand the core elements of a social system. In this type of framework, we will rely on to explain the nature of nationalism. There are many forms of nationalisms. In this text we will focus on ethnic nationalism that is based on the concept of national identity. It is a form of human association that aims to establish order and security through laws and their application within a sovereign territory, both from a historical and socio-political point of view. Its members aim for their country to be recognized as a community that is distinct and independent from the nation-state in which they are integrated.
