Abstract

Nowadays, gastronomy is a fundamental pillar for tourists to discover the cultural heritage of the place they visit, thus making culinary pleasures a determining factor in the choice ofdestination and, at the same time, an essential variable in shaping the tourist satisfaction of thetravel experience. In this sense, gastronomy has become a key element in the tourist developmentof any place and in its promotion. is research tries to study the gastronomic experiences offoreign tourists visiting a World Heritage city, such as the city of Cordoba. e main results ofthis research focus on the fact that the tourist who visits the city of Cordoba is a young travellerwith a high level of education, with a high purchasing power and who works in both public andprivate companies. Likewise, the motivation for visiting the city is both cultural and gastronomic. e satisfaction that the traveller has with the destination is very high and the loyalty that thetourist shows towards this place is also very high. e main practical application of this researchis to provide public bodies and private companies with information so that they can create touristand cultural products suitable for each traveller’s prole.
