Abstract

With this work we want to draw attention to the need of expanding the repertoire of methods and tools used to study the contemporary world. We believe that there are enough practical reason to tackle this interesting task. Therefore, we suggest the inclusion of other methodologies that have been traditionally used together with historical methodologies, or in secondarily way. Specifically, we speak of Contemporary Archaeology, which is a chronological variation dedicated to the study of contemporary societies using archaeological methods. There is no consensus about this type of Archaeology, but we believe it is the kind of archaeology that documents, interprets and disseminates the historical reality of contemporary societies through their cultural heritage (tangible, intangible and landscape).
