Abstract

The present dissertation intends to explore the social and collective images pertinent to juvenile cyberbullying motivated by ethnic and cultural issues in primary school and secondary centres, taking as a reference various educational institution located in the province of Malaga. Aim • Ascertain the sociodemographic images of the participants. • Explore the student perception about bullying and cyberbullying situations. • Know the cyberbullying impact at educational institutions related to the different ethnic and cultural communities. • Inquire into the role of mediation as an effective tool for managing conflictive situations arise from cyberbullying sceneries. Methodology - In order to fulfill the present research paper, 500 questionnaires have been gathered answered by participants aged from 11 to 16 years of age living in the province of Malaga. The variables analysed include information related to age, genre, school year, birth country, race, religion, number of siblings, about the participants; and educational background, work, religion and nationality of both father and mother of students. All variables describe the result of the quantitative data and sociodemographic variables corresponding to each item of the questionnaires. The subsequent analysis of quantitative data that called to the necessity of this enquiry settles the discussion and the integration of the results related to the specific —and both independent and dependent— variables. Those aforementioned variables bind together according to the aims and suppositions previously stablished, as a result of the carried-out enquiries. Conclusions - According to present dissertation, the research finds evidence of different sort of violence during the first stages of emotional development of human beings, a period in which childs are developing their identities. The concepts of “restorative justice”, “therapeutic justice” and “mediation” associated with juvenile justice have been vital for the present research conclusions; new approaches to justice understanding aimed at the damage compensation and humanized punishments, for becoming a peaceful society that lives together.
