Resumo
Political leadership has been studied from different branches of knowledge, it is a subject that has aroused interest among those who exercise it and those who investigate it. The studies on classic leadership have focused on the figure of man, so this research intends to conduct an analysis on political leadership from a gender perspective. In order to do so, a bibliographical review of the most relevant issues in terms of leadership in general and women's political leadership in particular will be carried out. We will relate these theories to feminist theories of power and the role of women in political institutions. Once this is done, we will proceed to the case analysis of women who have exercised or recently exercised political leadership, such as Angela Merkel, Dilma Rousseff, Hillary Clinton Michelle Bachelet and Katrin Jakobsdóttir
