Resumen

Hypnum cupressiforme Hedw. is a variable species with a complex taxonomy that has suffered many changes. Just in the Iberian Peninsula the species has 6 recognized varieties whose distribution is poorly known. In the course of a study on the biodiversity of epiphytic bryophytes in the forests of the Iberian Peninsula, two new localities of Hypnum cupressiforme var. julaceum Brid. and Hypnum cupressiforme var. resupinatum (Taylor) Schimp. were found in Cáceres and Soria respectively. We present a compilation of the known references of these taxa in the Iberian Peninsula and their morphological characters are compared to those of nearby varieties of H. cupressiforme Hedw
