Abstract

Since 2014 a systematic intervention has been carried out in the archaeological site of Las Cabezuelas de Totana, in the Region of Murcia, a complex of great stratigraphic complexity dueto the uninterrupted cultural sequence that it presents from the Bronze Age to the 11 th century A.V., and the intense looting to which it has been subjected during the last 50 years. In conjunction with the archaeological excavation tas/es, preventíve conservation work is being carried out on the entire archaeological comp/ex, both the structures and the materials associa· ted with them. 1he intervention of a site in the middle of the excavation process raises a series of difficulties because we must adapt the conservation strategies to a context in continuous change due to the progress of the investigations.
