Zusammenfassung

In order to analyze the support effect, mullite matrix composites (3Al2O3∙2SiO2) reinforced with Co, Ti, Ni, Cu and ZrO2 powder particles to a 10% final composition were manufactured by powder metallurgy technique. Powders are compacted to 300 MPa and formed cylindrical compacts that are synthesized to 1400 °C by one hour in a gas nitrogen atmosphere. The density is determined by Archimedes method that is microstructural characterized by optical and electronic sweep microscopy, and the electric resistance is determined through four point’s technique in order to define the conductor characteristics. The results indicated that the best densifying is the reinforced composite with Cu particles; the microstructural analysis provides a view of the homogenous distribution of the reinforced particles; and the electric resistance behavior presents a variation with respect to the reinforcement material.
