Efectos de un programa de ejercicio físico concurrente y de corta duración sobre los principales síntomas, autoconcepto, calidad de vida y condición física en pacientes con fibromialgiaun estudio de casos

Resumen

El objetivo del estudio fue analizar los efectos de un programa de ejercicio físico concurrente y supervisado de 4 semanas de duración sobre variables de capacidad funcional, dolor, calidad del sueño, calidad de vida y condición física relacionada con la salud en dos mujeres adultas diagnosticadas con fibromialgia. Todas las participantes fueron sometidas a un programa de ejercicio físico concurrente durante 4 semanas. Doce medidas de condición física relacionada con la salud y 5 medidas relacionadas con la capacidad funcional (Fibromialgy Impact Questionnaire [FIQ]), dolor (Pain Catastrophizing Scale [PCS]), calidad del sueño (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index [PSQI]), calidad de vida general (Short-Form Health Survey 36 [SF-36]) y autoconcepto (cuestionario de autoconcepto [CAC]) fueron definidas como variables dependientes. El análisis de los resultados mostró únicamente diferencias clínicamente relevantes (> 15%) para ambas participantes en las puntuaciones totales obtenida en la PCS y SF-36; no siendo así en las medidas obtenidas a través de los cuestionarios FIQ, PSQI y CAC. Además, no se encontraron diferencias clínicamente relevantes (> 10%) en ninguna de las medidas de condición física analizadas.
