Zusammenfassung

Introduction: Deaths by drowning are the worst result that can have the interaction of the human being with the aquatic environment. Goals: The aim of this study was to analyze the safety of indoor swimming pools in la Región de Murcia, from the point of view of the possession or not of a chain of survival. Method: The study selection was 26 indoor swimming pools. First of all, the legislation that governed the swimming pools of this autonomous community was reviewed. Then an interview was prepared in order to ask for information about which human and material resources are available to act and be used in a drowning emergency. Results: In general, the results obtained show that swimming pools must have a self-control protocol for the aquatic sports installation that includes security measures. The 19.23% of indoor swimming pools did not have a chain of survival. Conclusions: The conclusions were that is not an obligation to have a chain of survival and is necessary to create one protocol to cover the greatest number of situations and to establish the coordination between the rescues and the rescue actions that have to be carried out.
