Abstract
Introduction:music therapy and occupational therapy are related disciplines that pursue therapeutic goals or objectives to achieve a patient's physical, emotional, mental and social needs through their respective techniques. The training in these disciplines in Spain is acquired in isolated and unrelated syllabuses, in this sense, this research has the purpose of knowing and analyzing the inclusion of music therapy as a subject in the educational programs of the studies of Degree in Occupational Therapy in Spain. Methods:after a search through the application Qué Estudiar y Dónde en la Universidad of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain, nineteen have been the university centers located where they can study the Degree in Occupational Therapy, later, conducted an analysis of all current teaching plans of the subjects that make up the studies of the Degree in Occupational Therapy to analyze the treatment of music therapy. Conclusion:the results have revealed that music therapy is present in the curricula of six universities, among which, in only two of them, the University of Salamanca and the Autonomous Universityof Madrid-La Salle University Center, music therapy constitutes an optional subject with it’s own identity.
