Abstract

In 1849-1854 the Protestant press appeared with the reviews published in succession by the Spanish philologist and hellenist Juan Calderón, liberal emigré who was forced to leave Spain in 1823. Both publications exerted considerable influence on the evangelical press published later on also in Spanish both in Spain (from 1868), Great Britain, and in United States, to become diffused in Europe and Latín America.
