Résumé

The intergenic tRNAleu-COII mitochondrial region and four microsatellite loci were analyzed on worker honeybees sampled from the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Morphological and pheromonal analyses previously clustered them into the two subspecies Apis mellifera intermissa and A. m. sahariensis. Mitochondrial haplotypes and some microsatellite alleles were found to be restricted to each of the two subspecies. A hybrid zone between these subspecies could be inferred at the boundary of their geographic distribution, thus corroborating previous pheromonal analysis of the same samples.
