Abstract

Nowadays our children an teenagers are growing up with television as main informal educational instrument. The objetive of this project consists in analysing what kind of messages related to health are shown on TV. For this reason it is chosen the television series where is shown family environment. As welll as being them the most succesful ones, they are ideal for showing healthy or unhealthy habits to be imitated by young people. The metodology used is The analysis of the contents. The chosen TV series were: �Ana y los siete� (la primera de TVE), �Los serrano� (tele 5), y �Mis adorables vecinos� (antena 3). The analysis of the contents related to health and nature is done by the system of categories elaborated for this project. Implicit or explicit contents abaut health are found on the twelve seen episodes. That shows the role of television as educational means. But a lot of these respects shown on these series are not a positive influence for young people, which means that educators, parents, and health workers must be watching out for the contents transmited from these mass- media, to act as useful mediators.
