Abstract

In the Husserlian approach to the constitution of the alter ego, a component of static phenomenology or of the appearance of the other through objectifying acts and another component of passive or associative genesis, insofar as the alter ego is someone else like me, converge. The problem of the intersection of both planes arises, since, on the one hand, the other that appears is concealed by its appearance, and, on the other hand, the genesis remains within the limits imposed by the reciprocal alterity of the subjects. The analysis focuses on the V Cartesian Mediation and the Phenomenology of Intersubjectivity, showing a certain symmetry in the approaches. Finally, the insufficiency of the Husserlian analysis to differentiate between the masculine and feminine ego is remarked.
