Efecto crónico de un programa corto de flexibilidad dinámica sobre la dorsi-flexión de tobillo en powerlifters competitivos

Resumen

Introducción. La flexibilidad es una capacidad física fundamental para garantizar un método seguro y eficiente de los movimientos del Powerlifting, especialmente en la sentadilla. Un rango de movimiento (ROM) óptimo en el tobillo es un requisito anatómico fundamental que posibilita la correcta ejecución de este ejercicio. El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar el efecto crónico de un programa corto de flexibilidad sobre la dorsi- flexión del tobillo en competidores de Powerlifting. Material y método: Un total de 13 competidores de Powerlifting (edad: 21,6±9.2 años; peso: 72,17±9,91 kg; altura: 1,72±0,09 m) participaron voluntariamente en el presente estudio. Se llevó a cabo un diseño cuasi-experimental controlado aleatorizado. Los participantes del grupo de intervención realizaron un programa de estiramientos dinámicos durante 3 semanas (4 días/semana, 2 ejercicios -gemelo y sóleo-, y 2 series x 15 repeticiones). El ROM de la dorsi-flexión de tobillo pasivo máximo fue valorado antes y después del programa de estiramientos. Resultados. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en las mediciones iniciales entre el grupo experimental y grupo control. Se encontró un número elevado de deportistas con ROM limitado por cortedad del sóleo (n=12) y asimetría (n=5). Tras finalizar el programa de estiramientos, el grupo experimental incremento 4,4o el ROM de la dorsi- flexión de tobillo. Mientras que el efecto (pre-test vs post-test) de 3 semanas de intervención con o sin intervención de flexibilidad fue diferente estadísticamente significativo entre ambos grupos. De tal forma que se encontró un efecto estadísticamente significativo del programa de estiramientos en el grupo estiramiento (39o a 43,4o); por el contrario, no se encontró efecto significativo en el grupo control (35,3o a 35,1o). Conclusión: Un programa de flexibilidad dinámica de 3 semanas es eficiente para mejorar la extensibilidad del sóleo y ROM de dorsi-flexión en competidores amateurs de Powerlifting.
