Resumen

Se evalúa por primera vez el riesgo de extinción de Eurylophella iberica Keffermuller y Da Terra 1978 (Ephemeroptera, Ephemerellidae) gracias a los nuevos datos de distribución publicados recientemente y usando un método diseñado específicamente para insectos acuáticos. Los resultados mostraron que la especie puede ser considerada como “moderadamente vulnerable”. Discutimos cuales son las principales características de la biología y del hábitat de la especie que pueden determinar su riesgo de extinción, así como las limitaciones de los criterios de la UICN para evaluar insectos.
