Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the use of audiovisual systems for the management of dental anxiety in pediatric patients during atraumatic restorative treatment (ART).Materials and design: A pilot study was carried out on a total of 20 children in need of atraumatic restorative treatment (ART). Two groups were established, a control group (n = 10) and a study group (n = 10) and treatment by means of the ICNOS System was performed as from the first visit. To assess anxiety and stress in the child, the FIS scale and the FLACC scale were used, in addition to Heart Rate and Saturation Level. Results: A decrease in the values of anxiety and heart rate (p < 0.001) among the children using the ICNOS system during dental treatment was observed. Conclusions: The use of audiovisual distraction systems for ART treatment in children aged 6-9 years allows a reduction in the levels of anxiety and heart rate.
