Resumo
The high prevalence of spine injuries and back pain demands to carry out Postural Education programmes at school. According to the importance of the knowledge and the current lack of validated questionnaires to measure this Postural Education knowledge at Primary School, this research was carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the mind of highly qualified Physical Education teachers about what is the proper format of a knowledge test related to Postural Education for Primary students. Therefore, a total of 35 teachers who participated in the “Isquios Programme” were asked about the layout of the questions set in an appropriate test and about what topics should be included in each age. The results showed that the appropriated assessment is through a test based evaluation whose layout must include pictures and the number of questions oscillates between 12 or 15. Most of these questions must be about postural habits and spine knowledge in earlier stages, in opposition to further ages, where flexibility and strengthening must be the corner stones. In conclusion, new questionnaires about Postural Education at Primary School must be short enough and must contain a lot of pictures, in addition of keeping the track over the evaluable topics which has been chosen by the teachers.
