Abstract
This paper analyses the supporting parliamentary bodies on transparency and access to public information (Commissioners and Commissions of Transparency): the Comisionado or Comisionada de Transparencia y Acceso a la Información Pública de Canarias; the Consejo Regional de Transparencia y Buen Gobierno de Castilla-La Mancha; the Comisionado de Transparencia and la Comisión de Transparencia de Castilla y León; and the Comisionado de Transparencia and the Comisión de Transparencia de Galicia. Firstly, the place of these parliamentary bodies will be studied in the framework of bodies that guarantee transparency and the right of access in the Spanish constitutional system. Next, we will analyse both different models of this new type of parliamentary bodies and the causes involved in their emergence. Finally, an examination will take place of the structure, composition, functioning and responsibilities of each one of these supporting parliamentary bodies.
