Zusammenfassung
Eosinophilia consists of an increase in the usual number of eosinophils present in peripheral blood, which could likely be the clinical manifestation of various diseases, including infections, allergic processes and malignancies. Therefore, the differential diagnosis for this condition is broad and includes assessing whether there is an urgency arising from organ damage and then attempting to reach an aetiological diagnosis. In this protocol, we will describe the warning signs that should prompt a patient's hospital admission and the conduct of relevant screening studies on an in-patient basis, as well as the algorithm to be followed to reach a differential diagnosis in these patients.
