Resumen

Mentalization has been a construct study object for multiple theoretical and technical approaches, being spreaded in the last decades in an exponential manner both an optimization of theoretical model as with regard empirical and practical resources. Mentalization has transcended to other areas beyond psychotherapy. So, the research about mentalization is fixed it addressed from neurobiological approaches “The mentalization region”, prevention programs in diverse social and educative context (couples, Younger 2006, Families, Fearon et al, 2006) and alternative care, violence prevention in schools, reflexive parenting etc. (Allen, Fonagy, 2006). All these researches aimed to good results in practical application of this complex construct. Such is its importance that it has led to the creation of the International Association for the study and development of mentalization. The activities of this association started with the first international congress about the psychotherapy based on Mentalization. Among many researches being carried out, we focused our interest on its evaluation, applying it to cognitive-analytic psychotherapy. A summary of the main theoretical and technical issues of the cognitive analytic model will let us describe the therapeutic context in which we set such evaluation. Afterwards we will expose briefly the current status of the investigation in this sense, as well as our proposal, objectives and methodology.
