Abstract

The aim of this paper is to propose a teaching unit to apply canoeing, an alternative sport in comparison with convencional sports in the second cycle of Primary Education. Canoeing supposes an incentive to students in order to deal with the maritime natural environment. Therefore, five lessons about initiation in canoeing are described, including both the explanation and organization of the different activities, as well as the resources that are needed. Furthermore, students´ psyco-evolutionary features are being taken into account to achieve a real implementation in class.
