Abstract

Among the objectives of physical education is fostering the practice of physical activity. Therefore, physical education instructors should provide their student with the skills to be able to carry out a healthy, conscious physical activity practice outside of the school day and for the rest of their lives. Therefore, the instructor should be familiar with the activities that the students will find outside of the school day. Currently, the Pilates Method is a technique that is gaining importance in our society, and it improves strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Keeping in mind the benefits that this technique can provide students, the contribution that the Pilates Method makes to the curriculum in order to carry out a progression of learning units throughout the course of Mandatory Secondary Education is analyzed.
