Abstract
Literature review allows to state that the competitive success of MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) is positively influenced by innovation, technological resources, product or service quality, an adequate human resource management, manager capability and by competitive strategies. This has lead us to examine in this study how the resources and capacities considered strategic, and the strategic type followed by the firm, contribute to the competitive success of SMEs using a sample of 629 Mexican firms.
