Abstract

Introduction and objectives: approximately 60% of patients don't adhere to a physiotherapy treatment. Numerous empirical studies from various populations and settings link patient treatment adherence to physician-patient communication. For physiotherapist who relate with patients for so long, satisfaction and adherence are very important aspects to consider. Objectives of this study are to determine the satisfaction of patients of Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital, relate satisfaction with demographic factors and compare the satisfaction of individualized services work with group services work. In addition to evaluate perceptions of the physical therapist who can influence the quality of care offered. Material and Method: observational cross-sectional study developed in the Virgen de la Arrixaca University Hospital. The study involved 123 participants and the support of 11 physiotherapists. As a measuring instrument, we used a questionnaire regarding satisfaction physiotherapist, with 25 items designed by us. Physiotherapists completed a test to meet one of the objectives. Equality of means comparisons were performed using Student's t test for independent samples. Results: significant changes were perceived between the age of the participants and the "perceived information" by them. Also between individualized treatment and group treatment. There were changes among patients with disorders of more than 12 months, compared to those who had a shorter evolution. Those who were part of the pelvic floor service perceived changes from group therapy. with statistical significance and confidence level of 95%. Discussion: High satisfaction is observed. We perceive very long duration treatment in this sample. The age of the participants was high which helps us to look closely at the influence of age in results. The test used in our study provides a focus on perceived "empathy" which is not usually used in the reviewed literature and could help develop motivational-affective attitudes typical of a relationship focus on patients.
