Resumen

Se estudia el tratamiento que se da la información de noticias de actualidad para la creación de artículos en la enciclopedia libre Wikipedia. A diferencia del modelo editorial clásico de las enciclopedias, en Wikipedia los artículos sobre eventos noticiosos se elaboran al mismo tiempo que suceden, por lo que se producen conflictos entre diferentes géneros, el periodístico y el enciclopédico. Se analizan las políticas y prácticas editoriales que la comunidad de editores de la enciclopedia ha ido aplicando para la cobertura enciclopédica de la actualidad.
