Abstract

Contribution to the knowledge of galls found in Murcia and neighbouring locations from South-Eastern Spain vegetation (Arthropoda: Insecta and Acari; Bacterii) 54 gall-inducer species belonging to the families Eriophyidae (Acari), Cecidomyiidae and Tephritidae (Diptera), Aphididae, Cocci - dae, Psyllidae and Tingidae (Hemiptera), Cynipidae and Ten - thredinidae (Hymenoptera), Gelechiidae (Lepidoptera) and Rhizo - biales (Proteobacteria) are recorded from the Region of Murcia. 34 species are recorded for the first time in Murcia. All galls are illus - trated and defined with diagnostic characters. Fagaceae is the fam - ily in which more gall-inducer species have been found, with 12 species on the genus Quercus , followed by Asteraceae, with 7 spe - cies on 6 plant species, and Salicaceae with 6 species on 4 hosts. A table with all the gall-inducing species in which the attacked host has been reported is given. Finally, the presence of the fasciation on Pinus halepensis is mentioned
