Abstract
The concept of neutropenia comprises al the pathologies that neutrophil leukocytes are under 1500 cells/mm3 in peripheral blood. This could be due to a decrease in the production or a increase in their destruction. In these cases, the gingival and periodontal pathologies are common. We present a clinical case of a 6 year old patient with constitutional neutropenia, which had a very important loss of periodontal insertion. After two years of periodical treatments (oral hygiene, tartar removal, chlorhexidine varnish) we obtained a decrease of periodontal destruction but not completely.
